Do you think maybe some how last time you had the air cleaner off sitting on the bench the stud could have gotten in there. Then after bouncing around inside the air cleaner eventually it lined up right to slip through the carb? I'd hate to believe someone could be that much of a dick but it does happen. I feel for you that's for sure.

I thinking about braking my engine down now while it out for the frontend down it only has 7 passes on it right now but might go ahead and check it.

Very small marks on the head and piston from when the starter turned the motor until there was contact.
