Broken washer in pan
I was changing oil on my car and found 1/2 of a broken hardened washer it looks like. I think its a lock washer but its flat. Its .460 OD .312 id and .100 thick. I am think its an oil pump pick up washer. I thought it was a valve lock its not. Any ideas guys.
Thanks Tore

Any thing going on with your oil pressure?
You have access to a scope to take a look thru the drain plug or other opening?

No problem with oil pressure. I know someone who has one I might be able to borrow. The culprit was hooked to a magnet on the oil pan plug.

What Lifters? Could it be off a link bar?
I'd pull the Valve Covers and have a look up top too.

I pulled the rocker covers and swapped out all the keepers to see if it could be one but its not. I am pulling the intake later this week. They are comp roller lifters. No desire to pull an engine right now.

I called you and was going to tell you Rick I left a message. I thought it was a lock but swapped them out last night. If you can post those pictures I would appreciate it. I don't have any here.

as mentioned prior inspect your lifters . pics of pieces look like a part of lifter down by the axle .

I have some of the same lifters here at work I can't see where anything like that would come them.

Re: Broken washer in pan
Could be the small lock washer that comes w/stud and nut from ARP for the oil pump stud. Its about that size also.

Re: Broken washer in pan
Hope to pull the intake tonight and check the lifters. I borrowed a bore scope from a guy who fixes my machines at work. Will know by Saturday if I pull the engine.
