block and heads need finish milling to use the cometics. Great MLS gasket, but sensitive to surface prep.

Re: STANLESS steel marine head gaskets?
Two nights ago I lifted a head off of a BBC that had Fel-Pro head gaskets stamped "HIGH PERF / MARINE". Probably not unusual although I thought it was interesting enough to examine. The gasket appeared to have a copper tint unlike the Fel-Pro "Permatorque" series and seemed to be a bit more "tinny". Probably nothing special but interesting to me!

Re: STANLESS steel marine head gaskets?
I'd think the Felpros would work fine and be alot cheaper.
The cometic stuff is typical used in High compression racing type stuff. Not necessary for a lower compression marine engine.

Re: STANLESS steel marine head gaskets?
I it would be best to decide on the gasket type before assembly begins. The steel shim gaskets require a bit different block and cylinder head finish than the composite gaskets.capncruncher1965 wrote:I GUESS ILL use the felpros THANKS FOR THE INFO
