Ford 460 Truck Oil cooler water over oil
Does anybody know what years Ford put those water over oil oil coolers in the 460s. They had a 90 deg adapter on the engine then the cooler then the filter and had hoses plumbed to the radiator going in the cooler??
Early 90s???
Thanks Tore

Re: Ford 460 Truck Oil cooler water over oil
I have an early '90's Ford truck engine oil cooler that mounted to the radiator support and was cooled by air flow, now in storage. Also I have a couple of oil/water oil coolers that were installed on early '70's Ford Police Cruisers. These were round, mounted over the driver's side valve cover and had braided oil lines and heater hose for the coolant. I prefer the air/oil version over the coolant/oil version unless the oil needs temperature.
