Racing results from Sunday.
More or less a test n tune, I won the 9.0 index but there was only one other car lol. He couldn't get it started so I got a comp bye, he bought back and I spanked his tube chassis Chevy ass...........
My first time shot I seized the moment and pulled up beside Ted in the bird of prey, I knew he was gonna make a motor pass but what the hell.............bye bye Ted.........
I had the air bleeds opened up a step and I guess it didnt like it, put the .024's back and seemed to mph a tad better, that and it spend a 44 degree night in the trailer and the drivline was still cold.
Made run's throughout the day, won the index, and they had a run off of the index winners. i pulled a 12.00 car and let me tell you that was an eternity, he ran 12.004 on the 12.00 dial, I went 9.11 on the 9.0, this was a handicap .400 protree, I put a light on him but it wasn't enough.
Here are the numbers in order, starting at 11 am and ending at 6 pm, no electronics, shifting manually with a light.
9.14 @ 145.84
9.12 @ 145.58
9.13 @ 145.30
9.12 @ 146.03
9.12 @ 146.22
9.11 @ 146.41
1/8th mile increments
5.79
5.78
5.78
5.78
5.78
5.78
starting line was not great, air ok but not mineshaft. Thing that sucks is I'm getting bored...........
9.0 elim round with the chevy
index winners elim.
Lost count of the times I got asked if it had nitrous on it........
Keep racking my brain on what to do to it over the winter, need to leave the damn thing alone..........be nice to get another tenth out of it though lol.

hey jon. i was behind you saw the runs. looking good. you slid up besides me to early. i was just taking it easy, a 11.1 pass just getting it warmed up. could have came back around and got some of the bird of preys 8.81 @152. it was on the bottle started at 1100psi finished the run at 850psi. ran the data logger for the first time. on the graph it started dropping as soon as i let it go. get this, the air fuel was a 9. talk about fat. lets see whats the weather like in two weeks. maybe go to tulsa. your welcome to ride up with me as you know the bus has lots of room. im going to the cup race this weekend in texas.

Nice Runs
Jon,
Great job man. If my car ran (5) 5.78's in a row I would build a fence around it and not let anyone near it. I'm still looking for 6.0's and your clicking off 5.70's all day long. Good luck next year and we have got to get together for a race or two. Could you pull to Red River or that track on the Interstate near Kilkare Texas? I would love to meet you somewhere and see if we could hang some Chevy heads on the wall. What do you think?
Kerry

Fabio, you're my Hero
Nice runs.
I'm not going to change anything on my car this winter. Put some antifreeze in the cooling system, take pressure of the valve springs and leave it alone.

Re: Racing results from Sunday.
Honestly Damon, I'm just gonna check the lifters and reseal the intake for sure. Need to replace the windshield as I cracked it last winter putting in the dash............so lexan will go in its place.
Really no need at this point to pull the motor out, the oil filter was spotless when I cut it open and considering i ran the same filter all season I'd say its not hurt.
Wait til Feb and we'll get out i the mineshaft air, maybe turn the cam back a few degrees and get my 8 sec slip.
Kerry makes a good point, I didn't even realize it til I looked at all the slips.
Dont worry, a 565 is in the works, just not right this second lol.
If anyone has a valve spring tester they will loan me for a weekend I'd appreciate it..............

Maybe thats it Jon, between Dallas and Arkansas on I-30...closer to Dallas. About a 5 hour drive for me. I could make Paris , Tx. in about 4. Are you interested next year?
