MSD 351w distributor and 460 dist gear
Years ago I changed out a dist gear and did not drill a new hole, somehow I figured out how to do it and it came out perfectly within spec.
Now I'm wondering should I just cross drill it from the original hole and not worry about it?
I don't have any big cam or oil pump.
I do have lathe/mill, and measuring tools.
These gears have to be within .009 range on the shaft.
I'm not a machinist but I do have machinist friends who could probably help me figure it out if I didn't want to drill a 2nd hole.
I like the idea of putting the pin in the same hole but wonder if it's worth the trouble.

Re: MSD 351w distributor and 460 dist gear
To be able to use the same hole and get it right would be shear luck ... after getting the gear in the correct position dimensionally, drill a new hole 90° from the other one on the shaft; a little above or below the first hole.
