aje front end as well
all for 3k
36 inch long ladder bars i read the longer bars give more leverage for extra front end weight . We will see
35 spline axles new spool in box and gidled cover just needs to be set up .
I have all bumpers dash and extra parts as well , car was on the road in 07 as a orig street car

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
i got all the interior that was in the car
bumpers, hood, trunk .
The blocks like i stated in the other thread , were claimed to be dove blocks . They are D1ve blocks ( wasnt a deal breaker ), but would have been a bonus in my opinion .
2 sets of bare dove c heads
Csr water pump
aluminum radiator
stock crank
Came with new set of stock looking rods with arp bolts , no name but brand new in box . I will prob put these up on here for sale cheap
Fresh built glide never used 1.76 gear , transbrake , cast aluminum pan ---( will cut off bell and put a JW bell on it )
Aje front end
s&w glide adapter plate and spacer kit ( which i prob will sell ) i have a built glide already with jw bell on it ,
all glass is mint and window trim , Gonna try to keep the glass in the car vs going lexan .
Big bumper maverick is different for sure vs the early smaller one , but looks cool . im thinking black bumper with those ugly bump stops on the front removed . painted black and car will be black
need to put a bolt on track bar , and im not sure if i need to put a anti roll bar on ?
I got a title as well .
Over all im very happy i couldnt be anywere close on any car for what i paid for this , the area i was in wasnt booming with work and i would assume money wasnt a strong point his reason for selling

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
Looks great!
Just a suggestion before you start work on it.
Pay for a set of SFI specs/blueprints. You would be money and time ahead if you went ahead and added any needed bars to the chassis to let it cert to an advanced ET level on down the road. It will most likely go 8.50 now, but a bar or two here and there plus a funny car cage kit might take it to a 7.50 cert.
My car is built like that. Still has the radiator core support. Was built with the stock frame rails, but they were later removed and is now round tube up front.
Even if it you don't do the front (getting rid of the stock frame rails) I would do the rear 3/4 before you cover it up with sheet metal.

The longer the ladder bar the Less the leverage. I posted this in your thread about buying the car

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
im wondering if its worth putting a set of wheel bars or the brackets there for them . Not sure if this car is the type to be on the bumper . Im sure the hp and chassis tuning will play that factor out

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
I would just convert it over to the skinny 70-72 bumpers drop some weight and make it look a lot better I think. What ever you do cool car and a killer deal.

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
unless he has a 70-72 donor front clip, there is a bit of work just to install the smaller bumpers....same with the rear bumper, just not as badjeffgfg wrote:I would just convert it over to the skinny 70-72 bumpers drop some weight and make it look a lot better I think. Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
Just about any color in a Maverick is cool just due to the fact there is not alot of them anymore
Mine was 1977 Corvette yellow laquer with the center of the hood and the taillight only section painted flat black.....with some black pinstripes ....very late 80's correct......it was painted by DanH the member on here

my other option i heard a the aluminum fairmont bumpers are very close in size and can be made to work
If i stay big bumpers im gonna try to tuck them as much as i can .

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
On my front bumper (big) I eliminated the giant reinforcement part behind and made brackets to mount it....bumper itself is not to bad.....you should do that to the rear also....sucks nobody made fiberglass big bumpers for that car, just the small bumpers....plus you can get doors hood fenders trunk lid in fiberglass

Friend of mine has a 72. It has glass bumpers painted body color. The front bumper is glassed/filler attached to the steel valance panel and steel fenders. Hood and trunk are also glass, rest is steel. He also extended the wheelbase 4" with a longer front end. Used two extra fenders to cut/piece. Notice the extra length behind the front wheel and ahead of the door. Car is done in original colors, just a different scheme.
It runs 5.70's in the 1/8 with a sbf. Got a new 454 sbf on the stand ready to go in. Hoping to go 5.50's with it.

Re: 1975 maverick grabber pictures
You could always use the factory bumpers to make a plug and pop out a set of fiberglass units. You could make 'em real thin and light.
