Papst Blue Ribbon Maverick Grabber ProStock
Hey Guys,
A buddy of mine, Phil Gingerich, owned and raced this car
after Jim Halloran had it. He'd like to find it and try to get
it back. Last he heard it was in the St. Louis MO area
somewhere? Has anybody seen or heard anything about
the whereabouts of this car? Anybody got any other pics?
Thanks,
Rich

Cool car, I'll be on the lookout for it. I would post that over on some of the maverick/comet type forums and see if anyone has seen it.

And here is an annual gathering, and it happens to be in MO. I would shoot them an email and ask when exactly it is and get some more info.

When is that race Rick? I'll certainly consider it. I'm still
really bummed out about no Norwalk Ford race. I was
really hoping to debut my new car there this year.
We could substitute the Milan Ford race, the Columbus
NMRA/Ford Expo, or the Rt66 NMRA/NMCA Superbowl???
Have to see what the price of gas is when the season
begins ($$CHACHING$$). I need to minimize my long road
trips......

Bums me out too, I would have raced at the next one too. Well I would without a doubt make Milan, and I'm sure going to Columbus would be fine as well. You are in OH correct? NMRA event at Milan is cool but Rick don't support them anymore, NMCA is sweet!!! I went there last year and had a blast, and my dad raced at the Superfest for his first time ever. I've never been to Columbus so I have no clue what events they offer.AlkyPinto wrote:When is that race Rick? I'll certainly consider it. I'm still

If it were at Milan I would say, The Nostalgia Drags in Sept. (man that is a sweeeeeet event), the NMCA event, or Ford Superfest. Always a good time at Milan, but I just don't want it to be a super long drive for anyone. It doesn't have to be all Fords, as long as we are able to make it, pit together, and have a great time as we take the chevies out one by one. When Milan releases their schedule I will post it.

Personally I'm not the biggest mustang fan, but that's just me. I see too many of them around, not "different" enough for me. Its just my style Although if I had t own one it would be a 73 mach 1 drag car or pro streetjcoxracing wrote:Don't forget about us rust-tangs.

Re: Papst Blue Ribbon Maverick Grabber ProStock
Okay I'll try to answer all the questions:
I am in Aurora IL about 40 mi SW of Chicago. Just a little
north of Rt66 in Joliet. Phil Gingerich used to live here in the
Chicago area back in the 70s when he owned and raced the
Grabber. Phil raced it from 75-77 and then sold it to a Rich
Thomas in the St Louis area at the end of 77. I met Phil
when he went to work for IHRA. Phil was my boss as the
IHRA Division 5 Director for a couple years, before he moved
on to the Track Specialties title and relocated to TX, where
he is now.
Thanks for the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage & Reunion info. I'll think
about doing the Bowling Green race? What classes do they run?
I added the Heritage series to my "Consolidated Race" listing.
My new car is a 72 Mercury Comet. I actually bought it NEW
in 1972. I've been reconstructing it off & on for 10 YEARS
and fininally finishing it now. Lots of pics and info on my website
although old and not up to date. Anyway heres a sneek peek:
I dyno'd the motor last Jan and its on YouTube:

Hope to get it out for some maiden runs in June....
Thanks guys!
