Intake port spacing Empty Intake port spacing

Is the center of the port (vertically) spaced the same distance apart on a regular head as it is on a CJ head or is the CJ head shifted a bit? Or is it that some intake ports are not properly spaced when cast? I bought a set of Edelbrock fuel injector rails and held them up to my vic jr intake and my Weiand Tr lower intake and the middle two ports look off center on the vic jr and closer on the TR. When I put the TR on my 460 (powerport heads) the ports don't line up to the heads anyways.  However, the Edelbrock fuel rails are made to fit their Torquer II efi manifold which has the standard 460 port so that is why I am asking.

Jason,

We call this DOVE port centers and CJ port centers. Scotty J and Randy M, knows the numbers, and I keep forgetting. Anyway between cylinders 1 and 3, you should have 9.800", Between cylinders 2 and 4 you should have 9.800". The distance between 2 and 3 will be different than between 1 and 2, and between 3 and 4.

For anyone else, as per Randy the 1-2 spacing is

4.835"

So if my math is correct it should look like this...

That is NOT the spacing for regular production D0VE type heads ... that spacing only applies to Cobra Jet port spacing.

That is what I was looking for Randy. The Dove type heads is about 1/8" different isn't it? If you know that value I will make a chart for that one too. I find by posting it on the forum it is available for future use as well if anyone else ever wants to know. I googled it all kinds of different ways and could not find this info so I appreciate you and Charlie helping me out.
