Crate 429 with pump Gas
I am doing a project for a guy in Germany. It is a 1971 Mustang Convertible. The German Inspection requires a similar block to pass the inspection.
So, I would like to buy a crate engine that runs on pump gas (100 octane max) with a steel early 70's block that I can still shut the hood on the car. It needs as many horses as you can squeeze into these parameters.

Re: Crate 429 with pump Gas
Sky is the limit. I have contacted everyone from Ford Racing to everyone listed on Ebay.
I have even tracked down a couple of Nascar builders in North and South Carolina. They do hot rod stuff in the off season.
The prices I have seen go as high as $13,000 to $25,000. I don't care about custom valve covers with someone's name on them. I am after performance. I know this can be done for less than $13,000. I can buy donor cars all over the country with a full 429 stock drivetrain for $2500. I want to start with something like that and then send it to the rebuild shop.
The best quote that I have gotten so far is $5000 for 500hp from Tuff Dawg on Ebay. I am looking in that range. I also need a C6 built to go with it.
