351w shaft mount rockers
does anyone know anything about these rockers and if they're a performance option ford had? I've never seen shaft rockers on a 351w. I'm trying to send a pic but it won't let me

A friend has shaft rockers on a Yates headed 445" Windsor. Not sure who made 'em but I'll find out if you like.

The engine in that link is not a 351w. It is an FE might be an old 352

That will depend on which FE engine you have. Some rare versions of the FE are real pricey. Even pieces of a 427 can be worth a pile. At the other end of the scale, the value may be directly related to its weight. Yours is most likely from an old Galaxie, a full size Merc or a truck. Worthwhile to try to find out, tho.

Lemme take a shot at this......332-352-360-(361FT)-390-(391FT)-406-410-427-428. Did I leave any out?

There was also a 330. Had one in a mercury car before. It had a smaller bore and longer stroke than the 332.

You're right. According to the Ford truck enthusiasts forum, it was also an FT...small bore, 352 stroke, low compression truck anchor. Live and learn.

It's stamped 352 on the front of the block, it's got a 4 barrel and it's on a 65 truck frame and runs good. A friend is selling it, but don't know what to ask for it.

Re: 351w shaft mount rockers
You may find that "352" on other size engines, too...not necessarily a good indicator of what's inside.

Re: 351w shaft mount rockers
Yep, that was usually used just as an indicator that it was an FE series engine. My 428 had that cast on it and it was a real 428 out of a wrecked numbers matching car.maverick wrote:You may find that "352" on other size engines, too...not necessarily a good indicator of what's inside.

Ok, I guess I'm gonna have to dig a little deeper. Is there anything externally that may narrow it down. We don't wanna open it up, it's a really good runner.
