Hey guys, I've searched the forum but I wasn't able to find any info on this topic. I bought a engine rebuild kit and it had 88-89 pistons that came with it ( I later found out after it was too late, Summit Racing sucks). Anyways is there any head combo I can use to get a decent steetable compression ratio from my motor or should I save up again and buy new pistons? I was hoping that a 95cc head would do the trick, any suggestions?

Any D3VE head or head like it will be just over or under 9/1 compression ratio; (depending upon if you have the block decked .020" or run them down the hole about .020", the way they come).

Thanks man, I was thinking D3 but I didnt know if it would be feasible. I had the block resurfaced, but not enough to really make a huge difference I think. I'm going to measure how deep the piston is in the hole tonight when I get home...can you calculate compression from that figure? How do I measure deck height accurately?

Can't necessarily blame Summit just because you didn't do your research before you ordered. Surprised

Naw naw, Summit didnt send me the Rod bearings in the kit and they sent me two sets of cam bearings....I think I'm justified. Anyways enough with the knick knacks will aluminum 95cc heads work?
