i found out what brand of rockers thay are hartland sharp thay hit at the top of the spring when you roll the motor over.

I just had to do some minor clearancing on my Harland Sharps to clear the big springs. Not saying they are the best, but they work for me.

That could be the problem. Have you actually checked the rocker arm geometry? If not, get an adjustable pushrod and do some checking. Sounds like incorrect pushrod length could be the culprit.

i was not building it this was just on my friends motor a few weeks ago that why i asked about the rockers
this man builds motors all the time for other people not mine i just did not want to in to that when the build starts
in a few days

Well one common mistake is for guys to buy and use 1.70 ratio big block Chevy rockers, on our Fords. While it can be done, often times the geometry is less than perfect. The reason Lem asked about the pushrod length, is because too long of a pushrod, will make a stud mounted rocker roll off the outer edge of the valve stem. So therefore, having the correct pushrod length is vital for proper rocker arm geometry.
