Dodge has it too ! Even the chevy trucks have it ! Hey they all have it !
So that means I should live with it?
Not at all , but some where we have to realize that these vehicles are human made and are not perfect. We also have as a nation think that everyone owes us something . 80,000 miles silver spoon or not parts wear out !. Not just terrain causes problems but so does climate.
I can remember when a person was lucky to get 30,000 miles and the life of the vehicle was half gone.
Now we expect 100,000 10 year warranty or we are setting a lawyer.
Ford sales more trucks than anyone period and there are good reasons for that !
I posted a link to help you fix the problem and I also posted that the other manufactures not just Ford are having the same problem.
Either you like a Ford or you don't ,

Fix it..... They wear out too..... And stop Acting like its some kind of tragic manufacture defect that ford owes you something for.
What? Do a bit of research and you will see that 1000's of these truck owners are having the same issue. Just because a few guys on this sight have never seen it don't mean the problem isn't viral. Do some more digging and you will see that Ford knows about it, has ignored the 100's of accidents that have been caused, because "all trucks do it", and sent formal letters to ALL of the owners saying to check the air pressure lol. Ford doesn't own me anything. But when there is NO WAY TO FIX IT, people, including me get a bit ticked. Since you have nothing to contribute, kindly leave my thread.
1000's of how many million? Their is a way to fix it..... Find out what's wore out and fix it, odiously something isn't alright in "the suspension is on good condition and the alignment is fine" statement you have made. Our whole society is so fucked up and always looking to blame, blame, blame. How many potholes / curbs you hit? How many times has the truck been overloaded? How much salt has the truck been dipped in during the winter? How are the tires? Ever run low on air? When's the last time they where replaced?

Everything on my old 97 F250 PS suspension is worn out and it hasn't ever did the death wobble. It has so much play in the gear box that people think i'm texting or drunk.

The only time my 99 f350 had a wobble, was due to the ball joints being worn out.

Re: Ford Truck Death Wobble
I had an '85 F-250 gasser that bucked & kicked its' way down an off-ramp that nearly threw me outta the truck.. had a broken front lower shock mount.
Bought a '97 F-250HD 7.3 w/plow at around 90K - gave it new shoes & ball joints when I bought it and never once oscillated.
I've had my '02 F-350 7.3 for 4 or 5 years now, hasn't ever oscillated. Recently, I installed Bilsteins all around, including steering damper. The driver's front shock was blown out (oil everywhere), and the damper wasn't damping anything. Even with these conditions, it never oscillated with driving it for a month broken (spirited highway jaunts included). I'll attribute its' good manners to the maintenance I did when I bought the truck at around 95K-ish - new shoes all around and new Moog greasable joints & all new seals for the axles/spindles while I was there. I'm a firm believer Ford ball joints approach max life at 100K or less (seen it many times).
When you say "front end & tires are good", how do you truly know? Your truck's mileage is approaching what I would consider its' joints end of life. Joint wear is also when tire wear heads south gradually.
Just my $.02 FWIW. Good luck with your truck.

Re: Ford Truck Death Wobble
There have been jeeps that had death wobble off the production line. A 1/2 degree of play and harmonics 50% of the time are the cause. My old XJ would do it once maybe twice a year. Best Schmoog balljoints I could buy and still did it. Switched to raybestos and hasn't done it once. Scared quite a few people lol. I also had a 1973 mercury Montego that would do it. I couldn't ever get it to stop. Guy I sold it to put a steering rag joint in for $8.00 and it hasn't done it since. I look at it as everything has a fault, if it didn't we wouldn't make bigger and better things.

Well I'll say this....it's a backyard fix that seems very silly until you think about it. Being a chassis guy, I see how something coming from the rear of the truck can effect the front and cause a mis-diagnoses. I'll PM the info should someone want it but I won't post it for all to see. If I did that then I'd have the Freelander's and Cougs of the board running their wind suckers about it
