Stumbled across this by accident, later model Explorer rear disc brakes, brackets and everthing bolt right up to late model big bearing Ford 9 inch ends, with 2.5 offset axles. Super cheap rear disc conversation.

I think, 1998 to 02ish, and possibly a little later. I will have to look at my notes in the shop tomorrow.

Ok, I went to ebay and found some info. 1995-01 but it looks like the bracket deal has to go on before the bearings. Ild have to press mine off but the bracket may can be notched. What do you think?

I don't see why you couldn't notch the bottom of the bracket and slip them over.

You sure you have big bearing stuff? Or is it the Torino bearing?
From my understanding the 8.8 stuff is all Torino bearing?

"Big" bearing is generally Lincoln or Full size stuff, not typically used in aftermarket.

Two more ? about these brackets. Did you use the rotors and calipers off the explorer rearend? Would the oem rotor fit on after market axles?
Thanks again

My old set up I had on my Ranger was off a late 90s model Linc. Town Car with the 8.8 I had to do some mods to the brackets the hole would not line up but would have if I had the small bearing 9'' that hold the calipers but the rest fit right on my axles they are Moser and my rear end is a big bearings rear out of a 74 f150 that had 31 spline axles

The BIG Linclon bearing size is the most common for aftermarket race brakes

I've seen mostly Torino stuff not Lincoln. But hey I've been wrong before.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for big bearing 9in
best way is to spec the OD of the axle bearing . Big Lincoln/Olds ends are 3.150" od. Later Ford big bearing housing ends have a different bolt size and pattern. Ssmall axle bearings are are commonly called Mustang or Fairlane be it 9" or 8" axles

Andyleslie, does this bracket suppose to hold the axle in? I mean does it suppose to fit up against or around the bearing?
Thanks
Thanks
