C6 shifter, which one adjust correctly?
If I remember correctly there are certain shifters that do & don't work with the c6 transmission. Some didn't work because you could adjust the shifter in one gear and it would be out of adjustment in another. There was some that you could adjust and it would put the selector in the correct spot for every gear. Can ya'll do me a favor and tell me which shifter is the one I want?
Side note: I kind of want a ratchet shifter because it's going to be a manual valve body that gets street driven a lot. But, if none of those work I don't have a choice. I just don't want the headache of going thru a bunch of shifter to figure out which one is correct. I'd also like one with a trans brake button built into it.
Thanks'
Josh

I believe this one is one that will adjust correctly, if I'm not mistaken. As I said though I'd like a ratchet but this style will work.

There is bound to be a better ratchet shifter on the market other than Hurst and B&M. IDK the Precision Shifter might be the ticket. I still need to know if it adjust properly.

I've never owned a ratchet shifter but I've driven cars with ratchet shifters and my answer is NO but that's just my opinion. KISS
B&M Pro Stick in my car since forever.... Been through several C6's, one C4 and now a 2 speed with a gate swap.

My Ranger I have the B&M Pro Ratchet shifter when the c6 was in it and worked great all I did to change it over was move the pin in the shift gate to make it a 2 speed shifter. Myself I like B&M Shifters.

Years ago I used the ratchet shifter on a few C6 transmissions, they are finicky to adjust the first time. I found that you have to adjust both ends to get them correct, once I had the large nut on the back of the cable bracket in the right place, I always just left the cable on the bracket and removed the cotter pin from the front and dropped the bracket with the cable on it when I pulled the transmission.

B&m Pro stick works the best ! but it's not a ratchet but it's a simple shifter to use

B&M Pro stick on 3 different C6's now and a few C4's all reverse bodies and no problems.

I have the precision shifter. It is a very attractive looking shifter, but there is no room for eara. It must be adjusted right or you will, miss shift.
I still use it but it has to be adjusted properly. Works great when it is.

Re: C6 shifter, which one adjust correctly?
As long as the shifter can be adjusted into the correct placement is what I'm looking for. I just remember there where some that no matter how you adjusted them you would be off in another gear.
I haven't bought a shifter yet as I'm still deciding. One thing I haven't mentioned, it will be going in a truck that doesn't have a center console. I guess I will have to make a console or use a post and mounting plate to place it in a comfortable position.

I'm liking this shifter. I could make a longer handle for it to sit on the floor. The problem with doing that with the others is they use a separate reverse lock-out. If I made the handle longer I would have to use two hands.

Re: C6 shifter, which one adjust correctly?
Several years ago I had a Pro matic That whatever adjustment I made my 1-2 shift might or might not shift .Well one day it didn't and I floated the valves on my 429cj .After that little exercise the pro matic went into the trash along with several pistons valves and other useless engine parts .I believe at the time Hurst made the Pro matic .I have both a B.M Quick silver and a Hurst rachet style shifter I like better than the Quick silver because the quicksilver has some play between shifts .Hurst offers a promatic for trucks with an extended shift lever .Probably by now the promatic works ok .I just never had any luck with mine. Supposedly that cheetah shifter is the best shifter out there .The people I have spoke with love theirs .I am going to a reverse pattern valve body in my drag car so I picked up a Hurst Quarter stick .It looks really good shifts nice and all that .I looked at the box .Made in CHINA I will be damned what is next.
