IMO you would be better getting a set of the SCJ heads. I have a set of A429 heads that are on my engine now that I will sell but you could buy the SCJ's cheaper.

yeah i tried talking my dad into it but hes stubborn and wants another set of the cj heads, plus he didnt want to not his pistons or change them and re-balance the motor. its already got a set of them on there but there old and were already cut a few times, he wants to basically swap out, the ones we got are right out of the box and made good power for the bracket motor he has,

whats done to the heads and would you sell the bare? have they been cut? hurt etc, just looking a little info on them are they the early set where the valves rubbed (2.25) int and whatever the exh were, we had to put a smaller valve in ours when we first got them there the early set, been on the 514 for 14 years now

The heads have been max ported by Evans Racing Engines. Cut .010 to clean up. 951 comp springs with Ti retainers. No I won't take them apart.

If there's nothing wrong with the heads your dad has now, why swap them out? Just because they have been milled a few thou?
I'm confused
My A429 heads have been milled and ported.

they have some some pits in them and some holes that need heli coiled from the years, wanted to replace the ones for the 514 and put these on a 466 or 472 motor,

Nothing wrong with Heli Coils. All aluminum heads I have and have had in the past have Heli Coils. Where is the pitting? If it doesn't affect performance then I don't see why the need for new heads but it's your money

RTV doesn't care about pits LOL!
So if he's just looking to replace what he has now, consider new TFS Street heads if you can't find any good A429's
I've considered selling my top end, cam and pistons in order to upgrade but my combination runs so well I don't see the point in "Fixing it" if it's not broken.
