But seriously, why do we have 4-wheel drives if we are trying to figure out how to limit the amount of traction the front end has via decreasing weight on the tires?
P.s.----I have mine set-up to transfer weight....
----Why do truck pullers hang weight off the front?
Because the sled loads the rear and lifts the front, loading the front pinches the rear tires to the ground. And still allows the fronts to help.

IDT--- so you are saying the weights on the front not only put weight on the front tires, but also get some mechanical advantage over the rear tires by using the frame like a class 1 lever to multiply the force on the rear tires (the rear tires being the fulcrum). Very interesting.
If a sled puller wasn't limited by weight rules, would he want to hang even more weight on the front and ultimately have all 4 tires weighted the same when the sleds weight is on?

when adding weight where are you putting it? In the frame rails? over the rear axle ? all the way at the rear?

Re: chassis set up ??? mud truck weight distribution ??
after a ton of work... the best i can get my ranger chassis 58% front and 42% rear... front left 1215 lbs , front right 1258 lbs, rear left 888 lbs, rear right 847 lbs, left weight 2104 , right weighs 2104.. so i am perfect 50% left and right...i did start out at 67 % front and 33% rear in the begining...
Any other idea's??
