Weight Distribution and Wheel Base
Hey,
Lets say your using a 101 Wheel Base Fox Body car. Umm for referance the engine is in a "Stock" location..
Your current weight is 60% front and 40% rear
So you slot the K-Member to give you 104 inch WB..
The Question: How would that change the weight Distribution? Would just a few inches matter and if it does, how much change would be expected?
I don't know so I'm asking..
Thanks..

Re: Weight Distribution and Wheel Base
You can do the math on that pretty easily since you already know the percentages and the old/new wheelbases.

Re: Weight Distribution and Wheel Base
Simply moving the front wheels forward will tend to put more weight % to the rear.............the whole instant center thing stays the same.........with the exception of now the unsprung weight is now moved forward............once all the front suspension travel is gone the deal acts like you put a weight out on the nose............
Them old superstock cars moved the rear axle forward..........puts more weight on the rear but the front weight % in front of the front tire stays the same................confusing .
Unless its a wheelie monster I dont think the gain for the effort is beneficial.
Longer wheelbase makes it more stable, but as long as the caster is where it needs to be I dont think its worth any small gain there is..if any.
