Re: SCJ headed 463
yes you did, I could not wait anymore to here it run so I put the AR3934 plugs in and dumped 6 gallons of E-85 in the cell and fired it up, only let it run for a few minutes because I still don't have any tranny fluid in it or a drive shaft and no header gaskets, so the tranny and the gaskets will be done tues or wed and I will let it run longer but it sounds good, been a long time coming

You started it with no tranny fluid in it? way to go that should have help that trans and converter out a lot......you do realize that when you start an engine there are a lot of moving parts in the trans too?

He had fluid in it just enough to keep the parts lubed for a quick fire off.... the video is with everything full and he made some passes down the road in it.
His computer is messed up right now so he can't log in or get on any sites.

Re: SCJ headed 463
thanks guys, just got my computer up and running again, its been down sense the 15th anyway yes it had enough fluid in the tranny to start it for 10 seconds, the video was after I got everything topped off and hooked up, I would have worried about it if it was a C-6 with low fluid LOL!!! I have made a few passes down the street and back and it feels stupid fast!!!!!!! I'm going to take it to Gmsmkr's shop in Alabama to finish the cage, mount the seat, do some wiring to trans brake and delay box and paint and body work in the next week or so, then to the track to see how it does.

Re: SCJ headed 463
well its been a while sense I've up dated my build thread so here it goes, took it out to our local track (Immokalee dragway) when I got back from Alabama (gmsmkr's house) and made 1 pass and went a 6.54 @ 104.25 my tranny leak was getting bad and my E-85carb was acting up I loaded it up and went to the house, I changed the chrome tranny pan and installed a new rear seal, I also had to re-seal the china wall at the rear of the intake as it was leaking a little too, took the carb apart and checked it all out and could not find a single problem with it so I called Mark Sullens and he told me that it was built for a 565 CI engine and would not work good on my combo so I took it off and put a 1150 gas carb on it with 100LL avgas and it runs real good, got the alt wiring run and all hooked up so I have a charging system, tested up and down the road and feels pretty good but no racing due to the monsoons we have been having till last sat. went up up lakeland for some T&T time got up there late and it was raining (go figure) waited un till 9:30 and started racing, the humidity was 100% and it was sticky as hell but the track was hooking and cold off the trailer it went 6.672 @ 102.78 with a 1.479 60' so I looked it over and waited like 2 1/2 hrs for my next pass and it went 6.643 @ 103.21 with a 1.478 60' so I'm pretty happy with the results, I kinda figured it would slow down with the alt hooked up and slow down a little with the gas carb, I did not get a chance to tune on the E-85 carb due to rain at home so without the alt and the E carb back on it will run 6.40's I'm sure of it but won't know till next time, stay tuned in there may be some changes in the near future!!!!!!!

Re: SCJ headed 463
no video yet Steve but I hope to get some soon, I think it runs well for only being 464 CI and only 11.8 to 1 compression and a small solid roller .690 lift and 263@ .050 the heads are what makes it go as good as it does, like I said it will run some 6.40's with the E-85 carb back on this winter or in a LIGHTER CAR!!!!!
