thinking of putting a 572 together
Will a 4.600 stroke with a 6.800 rod live on the street ? Say 10 thousand miles without to much cylinder wall or piston wear due to such a long rod short piston combination in a factory block. What I'm after is some where around 700 horse on pump gas. The combination I'm thinking of based on some of the things i have. Some A429 heads that have been worked on that flow 368 cfm at .650 on a 4.39 bore. Would like to go with a solid flat tappet custom ground. Have a torker 2 not dead set on it. A 4150 pro system that flowed 1040. 1 7/8 headers. c6 with a 4200 stall, trans brake ,manual valvebody, 3.73 gear in 88 turbo coupe T bird. Thanks for any input Dave

That should live fine with around a 1.200" compression height piston however, I don't think you will be able to get a 40 cc dish or so for pump gas compression ratio with that short of a piston.
I also don't think that large of an engine with that head will be very useful on the street with a 4,200 stall speed converter and unless you have awful large tires, I wouldn't use that 3.73/1 rear gear.

A 521 might be a better choice IMO. The power goal you have doesn't need that many inches.
