anybody swapped a 460 in a 77 ford f100
I'm looking into putting my 472 in my 77 f100 the 302 is about shot and don't want to rebuild it. So I'm looking for good used parts to start hording for when it blows to do this swap and any info you guys are willing to lend to make it go smooth. I would like to have all parts needed to make the swap happen over night. I will be running a c6 trans with this combo.

Thanks frank, what oil pan do I need or will my moroso fox pan work?
I am running the 20625 pan if I need to swap it out I would like to have something similar to this pan for the truck.

I can't remember how much our setups differ (mine's a 67) but I have the original, 352 FE perches and my 460 sits in place just fine. My C6 mount also slips right over my crossmember just fine, although I can't remember if the hole was re drilled off to the side or if it was already there Drilling a new one would only take a minute anyhow. Hope this helps even though it is minimal info.

Thanks for all the help guys
The truck is 2wd and will be just a toy I have been building mustangs and it's time for a change for my personal toy.

I had a 1974 F100 with a 460 I put in. The cheap way is oem FE perches and FE engine mounts. Use the diagonal holes and slot one of them slightly. If you use a 2wd truck c6, the crossmember will line up IIRC. I think I did have to remove the middle crossmember or something; it's been 24 years.
I have another 1974 F100 with a BBF, but it uses engine plates, lol...

That is the way I did my brothers 72 he had and you are right the cross member will have to be removed or trimmed on . < This also will depend on what type headers you use.

It should just take a regular front sump pan.

Personally I would find a set of towers for either the 351/400 or less common the 360/390 and swap them out then get a set of L&L or similar aftermarket motor mounts(that use all three block bolt holes) and set the engine in. The middle crossmember(between motor mounts and transmission crossmember) can be removed to make install easier. A standard front sump car oil pan can be used but oil will dump on the crossmember most likely.
