Any 2011-2015 Super Duty 6.2 owners here ?
Now that our 460 trucks are getting some age on them, I was wondering how many guys here have bought a 6.2 gasser ?
I recently bought a 2011 F250 2wd with the 6.2 and 3.73 gears.
It has alot of miles (all highway) but runs good and is super clean.
The previous owners put over 26K miles a year on it traveling back and forth cross country with it.
I did a 83 mpg loop test because I did not believe what the dash display said.
So I topped it off, drove 83 miles and came back to the same pump.
Had to really try to get 4.8 gallons into it.
Hand calculates to 17.2 mpg---the dash lie-o-meter said 18.4 mpg.
I am very pleased with the mileage for such a large truck.
I am anxious to hitch up my 24 ft enclosed and see how it tows.

"the dash lie-o-meter" ????
Why would you say that ?
Have you checked the odometer/speedometer, temp/oil, etc. factory gauges?

The 6.2 deal will run off and hide from the 460 stuff. But, it seems you aint cool unless you have diesel deal these days.

The wife has a 2012 F250 w/the 6.2 and loves it..
It pulls her 26' camper like it ain't even back there..
Lem is right, the 6.2 is a bad mofo...

I picked up my '02 7.3 for a decent dime, but it just is becoming more and more not the deal to have up here for me - local weather man says we've had six record lows in like the last ten days, and the relatively short drives I do on a regular basis just don't give it a fair chance. Hell, it's just reaching normal engine & trans temps by the time I roll on base.. I think I'm realizing the 385 series fun I have could be sustained by a gas deal hauler.. Homework mode is on! Lol

I plan to upgrade from the 5.4 f250 i have now to the 6.2. Good to hear the mpg is a LOT better than the 5.4 I have now.

yeah, the guys in the 6.2 section of FTE call it that :
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum206/
Mine was off around 1.1 mpg. Close enough.
The 2013 F-150 ( 5.0) I drive at work is off around .9 mpg so I suppose that's normal.

Lem is right, the 6.2 is a bad mofo...
Everything I have read about these engines has been positive, except for the mileage on some 4wd models.
Understandable-- considering the added weight and ride height.
I have not heard of any major defects.
I have not seen anyone say it lacks power to pull a 8K - 10K lb. trailer.
I like the fact that Ford did away with the 2 piece spark plugs and other plugs problems.
Granted, there are 16 plugs now on the 6.2, and according to the attached pic there appears to be plenty of thread depth.

some more cutaway pics of the 6.2
I like this first pic showing the cutaway of the exhaust manifold.
Alot more smooth flow looking than the old style manifolds.

I'm debating on selling my 1995 F350 Crew 2 Wheel Drive and getting a new(er) F250 or F350 4x4 6.8L or 6.2L

We have several F350 2wd's in our fleet at work with the 6.2's. The guys seem to like them, lots of power considering there are full height space caps in the box full of tools and junk. No complaints about fuel mileage either. I wish I could afford one...LOL

Most vehicles have speedometer error but, I never heard it called a lie.

I laughed when I first read that phrase on that site.
As long as I know what the offset is, that's all that matters.

Damon, that 6.2 idles so smooth.
I'm looking forward to comparing how it pulls vs. my 2004 CC Dually with the 6.8 2v.
The 6 speed automatic transmissions in these new trucks are tough.
They have an adaptive learning feature that learns how you drive and programs the trans accordingly.
When I first drove it I thought " Oh crap" the trans is shifting way early.
Now, it shifts more to my liking after I put some miles on it. Much better.
I also read where if you turn off the sway control the truck will get better mileage while towing. I gotta try that.
I tried the cruise control on it when I first got it and it felt like it 'surged" alot. Not a good feeling.
Then...I turned off the traction control and now the cruise works so much smoother.
Weird.

Re: Any 2011-2015 Super Duty 6.2 owners here ?
I have a 2011 f-150 with a 5.0 that I drive for work and the fuel mileage calculator is generally within .5 mpg or less when I fill it up. If I fill up at a half tank it is off more than when I get below a quarter tank. Also have to fill up the same every time and some stores the pumps kick off much easier than others. You have to reset the MPG calculator every time you fill up if you want it to be accurate otherwise it is estimating the mpg over however many tanks of fuel you've used and wont be as accurate.

I've got a 2012 crew cab Lariat. Tows my 28' Halmark trailer without any issues. Fully loaded with Fairlane, Jr. Dragster and golf cart it weighs close to 12k. I did add air bags which made a great improvement but other than having to do that I love it. Mine is an F250 and my trailer has a lot of tongue weight with the golf cart.

I don't see any radiator issues, water pump, dpf, egt, turbo, shit the bed fuel sys with the 6.2L
. It's a damn shame ford dropped it in the F150. Indmar marine is using the 6.2L in marine application
In some wake board boats. Anywhere from 450-550 hp I think.
I'm sorry diesel guys but the 6.7L is a joke. Keeps me pretty busy these days.

When I decide to upgrade to an enclosed trailer I'll be ditching my 2013 F150 w/5.0 for a new F250 with the 6.2
Guy I work with has a 2013 F250 4x4 with the 6.2 and loves it.

the wife had a 2013 fx4 F150 with the 6.2L, had the 3.55's with the 20" factory wheels. turn traction control off that truck was nasty. she found a 2014 raptor she fell in love with. so we traded. I wish ford would do something spectacular with it. but I guess with all the greenie weenie engineers with ford I don't see it happening.

Got one over the weekend. Been searching for a while and found a few F350 4x4 DRW with Super or Crew. The gas versions are kind of hard to find. Anyway, we had to drive to West Virginia and pick it up Saturday. Made them an offer and they accepted.
2012 F350 Super Cab Lariat 4x4 DRW
28,450 miles
Loving this 6.2L engine, it flat GETS IT DONE! I can't wait to hook it up to the trailer.
Not sure how long they will keep the images online but here's a few.
