DO you guys run a thermostat on the street with a elec water pump or a restricker of some kind ?

I never have but I live in Florida, most electric water pumps turn 750 to 1000 RPM so I think with it turning that slow you don't need one but like I said i'm in the south where it just don't get that cold, good luck

I use a gutted thermostat. Seems to work fine.

For just occasional street duty I'd think you be fine with or without a thermostat in it as long as you keep an eye in the temp, but for everyday use I wouldn't want an electric pump, Id go with a belt driven mechanical pump.

there are temp sensors available to turn on the water pump

I tried gutted thermastat worked OK, then washers with smaller hole, worked better until middle of summer. Then went back to factory water pump and themastat.
