in line pump? Empty in line pump?

Got the bronco going trying to get ready for May long weekend just running a gas can for a tank for now should I use a in line pump to help send fuel going to see how it holds up before I spend to much more money

Carb or EFI? If it's a carb deal, an inline would certainly help.
