Just want to play around to see if the 460 engine would like more cam' would putting on the caps give more lift? Cam is a .563-583 crane cam ...seems like the car runs out of breath on the big end.seems lines cheap experiment..

The only way that i know of to get more lift would be to change the rockers from 1.73 to 1.8 or get a new camshaft. Adding height to the valve tip will only make your adjustment higher and most likely require longer pushrods for the correct geometry. If you added the Lash cap and kept the same rocker placement the valve would never close all the way. I am not and expert but I'm sure if I am wrong someone will correct me.

tight the lash up ,close it down to .012" and make a pass . you'll be using some of the clearancing ramp on the cam for more lift . it with also give you more duration

So instead of .026 hot try.012 hot lash?

+1 If changing the lash makes a noticable difference ( positive or negative) it will let you know if it's the right direction or not. My guess is it will be positive

lash cap/valve cap will not on its own give more lift. (own its own) depends on rocker geomtry, be the same as changing push rod length.

a lash change of several thousands would have little effect but can make a good different in power.

I'd try one valve at a time, exh. first,, then int. w/ex back to std.  the both.
