Lost Tranny or converter? Update 9/8/15
I rolled car out of trailer and fired it up, put it in rev nothing, put it in low to move forward nothing. Tried again and had to really rev the engine up to get it to move either way. Not low on fluid, Its a C6.
Which can it be?
Thanks Tore

Just went out and tried the tranny and I don't have any movement in any gear unless I really rev it up.

Pressure test before removal ,could just be a stuck pressure valve in the vb

What should pressure read in what gears? OR in neutral? And if it is that how do you fix that?
Thanks Tore

https://www.429-460.com/t23174-burned-direct-third-clutchs-on-my-c6 Read the first post, pretty standard pressures for a shift kit type valve body. You will have to pull the valve body and remove the boost valve if it is stuck.

I have no idea what a boost valve is or where its located in the VB. This is one of Frank's Valve bodies I am running.

The old style valve bodies have a plate with two bolts holding the valve in. The late valve bodies have a clip, and you have to seperate the halves to remove it. I would do your pressure checks first and record them. Then take the pan off and see what's in the bottom, and go from there.

I think I remember seeing a plate with 2 small bolts on the top of the valve body. I guess that's what we will do 1 night this week.
Thanks Tore

Good luck with it, and hopefully it is something simple and cheap to fix. PS: It's not the plate on the top, it's on the side if it has one.

Pressure test
You need to do a pressure test before pulling your c6 .If the pressure is low maybe the boot valve is sticking and you can fix the valve body instead of removing the trans. That is what Frank wants you to do .You need a gauge made to test transmissions it should read to 300 lbs .Along with a hyd. hose that can handle high pressures too.Doug

I have a gage that reads that high. Just need another body to read it while I run it thru the gears. The port for that is on the D/S of the tranny correct?

Control pressure is on the drivers side in front of shift lever, throttle pressure is on passenger side behind servo piston. Take readings at both points. When you talk to Frank he can narrow it down to the throttle valve, or other problems in the valve body easier.

No update yet as I haven't had time to get out in the barn. Hopefully this weekend I can post some results.
