429 scj 4 bolt

I just purchased a dove 429 scj block,still standard bore.does anyone know what is the max hp for this block before pushing it....

Sell it to a collector and get an a460 block if your worried about how much power it will handle.

With a conversion to splayed main caps, just about any BBF block (except maybe the 370" truck block) can be made to handle as much or more hp than that gem. The one you have is probably worth more to a collector/restorer than to a guy who's gonna poke it, stroke it, spray it.... break it. I'd choose one that's easier to replace.
