Getting ready for winter
So what's the winter plans for you guys...
Any up grades or just drinking with the crew while it's cold
I think my winter plan is....
35 spline axle swap
Mini tubs
New rear wheels with a 29.5-10.5 tire
Possibly a glide swap too

There are always up grades, I hope to trim a few pounds and change to a different NOS system.

Well, lets see, besides moving snow around.......maybe make the jump from flat tappet cam to roller. That will, in itself, be monumental.

Re: Getting ready for winter
No upgrades on mine unless I get a wild hair and decide to change something else on it. My plans are to let it hibernat like a old bear and wake it this spring. Might start on my 69 F100 getting it ready to repaint.

Re: Getting ready for winter
I've penciled in plans to spend some time on the dyno. Maybe put titanium valves in and experiment a little. Having a hard time though changing anything on this engine. My gut tells me it has a little more in it but is the cost worth the result. 3k for maybe 40hp? That's a lot of buck for the bang. But who knows it's only money. Can't take it with me and I work to hard to not enjoy it.

Re: Getting ready for winter
Other then a bottom end check, my 472 will be left alone. I'm going to ditch the slicks and try a drag radial setup on my car in 2016. I have a buddy running a turbo SBF fox ragtop with radials so he's going to help me with the rear suspension parts selection and dial it in. New DA lower arms, spherical upper arm bushings, new rear springs and 10" rims is the plan. If I don't like the radials I can put a set of 28 x 10.5's back on and run it. I also need to get an alternator on the car too....finally...LOL

Clean the shop, sell some stuff, throw a bunch away. Tinwork, plumb and wire the Mustang. Finish the minitub and assemble a 393 for the Futura.

Re: Getting ready for winter
I think I'll race some more....
Maybe toss a set of plugs in the old 514, run the valves and flog it.
.....Oh, and maybe hammer out the dent in the quarter panel....the one I got from the asshat in the red Camaro.
