Post  bigblok2000ranger September 26th 2012, 6:30 pm

Just wondering what upgrades/maintenence people are planning over winter. My plans include new fuel pump and ignition box, having the engine given the once over and purchasing a pair of Pro-Systems carbs as well as building 2 transmissions and having my converter reflashed and hoping to purchase a back up converter to go with the back up trans. Will be purchasing new tires in the spring as well.

depends on cash flow, for sure the intake goes to I-S for a fogger............. very possible the DD will come out for pistons, rings, cam and rod bolts............Heads will go back to Charlie for a look over and a few other tweaks..........

That is all........ Cool

I lived in AL for couple years ya'll thought it was cold at 35*.

I pulled into the gas station in Sheffield, AL where it was 37* after driving 12 hours from Milton, WI and everyone was wearing thick ass coats complaining about how cold it was. I was wearing a sweatshirt with the sleaves pulled up and the Lauderdale Sherriff paying for his coffee commented that I must not be from around there and I told him about driving from WI 12 hours ago where it was -40* with -70* windchill factor, he said "yeah I bet this is warm to you yankees". How heavy is your truck?

I plan on doing lots of hunting, for deer and elk. And even more hunting to help area ranchers rid themselves of these no good, cattle killin' wolves. Not to mention what they're doing to the elk herds in the state. Oh yeah, there's a slight probability I might be able to get the Banana finished up by spring...

Finish the 25.3 stang. Going back with the turbo motor for x275. Hoping to be running this time next year. Money has been tight but people are starting to spend money which is good for us so we can buy parts.

Brothers boss will be building a bbf for x275 racing so I'm sure we will set that car up too.

Quite a bit as it looks. Get the 598 (yes 598) dialed in to the car until time runs out, change paint scheme, spoiler, chute, bead locks, and get the rolling '84 fox body I just picked up ready using the 514 as a back up car and most importantly, get the old beater golf cart painted to match with jr dragster wheels and tires on the back and skinnys in the front. If enough time is left, figure a way to lift the front tires off the ground on the golf cart. lol!

Hmmm, lets see, once the wood is all put in...........get to buy a new crank to replace the broken LABillet,... that came from the broken trans,... that came from the locked up rear end. Which really put a damper on the racing for the last month or so. Really wanted to make your race, Eric. And make Norwalk next weekend.
And in the spare time, got the Cleveland outta the hot rod for a refresh.
Oh yea, pretty sure there'll be snow to move around this year.
