I may not touch the 'Grande, its already plenty fast enough as it sits, besides I'm gonna have too much fun with this little sbf car from the looks of it anyway lol.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Bump! Well I had this bright idea how I was gonna build a 2x3" chassis for mine over the winter and took measurements and priced what material was gonna cost for the chassis right up until I got to the struts, HOLY CHIT they don't give them things away!
I was thinking of using Foxbody struts originally but their may be a packaging issue with them so I got to looking at the straight up race stuff and ~$2700 for a complete strut/spindle/spring package. The original thought was to build a lighter better chassis than what is under the truck and the way I was thinking of doing it shoulda been able to do it for ~$1000 everything included.
Oh well I can buy alot of cutoff wheels and sawzall blades to lighten in up cheaper than the $2700 struts.
I know I know racing ain't cheap but the thought process was less work to do the tube deal and not much more money but looks like back to the original diet plan. The $2700 will be better served in other areas (like a new set of custom carbs).

Thanks for reminding me I need to either send the seat belt in or buy new one.
Whats the general consensus on this? I am thinking the cost of new is worth it.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Picking up my refreshed 502 from Randy Malik around Dec 1 and taking it home so I can reinstall it in my freshly painted 1992 GT. I'm going to have to dig out the instructions for my Frank Merkl Transbrake and see if I can figure out how to install it in my C6 , so that it can go in with the engine. I've still got to install the front and rear bumper covers and the ground effects, and install my new Kaenen stretched GT rear wing. I'm going to rearrange my gauges in the interior and install a triple pillar pod. The engine compartment looks so good after being painted that I'm going to have to put some effort into hiding some of the underhood wiring in order to clean up that factory wiring snarl on the drivers side inner fender. I'm going to buy a small Nitrous plate kit for it, so I can experiment and see what a 100-150 shot will do for it in the 1/4 mile. Hopefully I'll have it back on the road by spring.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
I've decided to back half my car and put some big ol steam rollers on it Plan is to cut the car off right behind the firewall and build a tube chassis from there back. Four link, new rear end, updated cage etc. My goal is to get the car to under 2700 lbs with me in it.....if that happens the old car will fly.
I already had bought new front wheels and wilwood brakes for the front so I'll get those on there. I'm also gonna cut the front core support out and go tubular to save some weight. Looking to cut 75lbs off the front alone.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Started on the engine for my Foxbody this week. C9 headed 514 w/C4 and 4.30 gear. Got the Chassis out of Carolina a couple years ago and have been gathering parts since then. I think I have most everything now except driveshaft. and maybe a smaller Dominator carb. I have video of the car when the other owner had a NOS SBF in it. Gonna stay w/10.5 tires .It's cert. for 8.50 . Gonna be FS in the spring.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Had planned alot of upgrades. Now I'm just trying to figure out what to do with a badly wrecked car. What I hadn't thought of was that was gong to be last pass of the yr anyway.I should have known better than to stand in for a small block chevy.Nothing goodcould come from that!
