Which really put a damper on the racing for the last month or so. Really wanted to make your race, Eric. And make Norwalk next weekend.
And in the spare time, got the Cleveland outta the hot rod for a refresh.
Oh yea, pretty sure there'll be snow to move around this year.
So.. you're not coming to Ubly's Mustang event this year? And I thought I was bad at breaking stuff but you have me beat. All I can say is I'm sorry.

Sorry to hear about you breaking your car, I broke my trans recently so I feel your pain. I am moving my race to mid to late September for next year. To try and help get the car count up. Had less cars this year but more of the quicker cars.

Winter
Short block swap out, along with transmission change. Weld my rear sway bar on, & a roll cage if I can swing the $$$ I figure I'm about $3-4K from being ready to run El Mirage. Have to buy a set of Goodyear Race tires too, another $1K

For the T-Bird:
New lifters and valve springs. No reason to go into the bottom end at this time.
Maybe a new hood. Hate the current scoop.
Big maybe: strip all the exterior trim from my 67 Fairlane and get it ready for paint.
For my shop: 90% sure I'm going to get a 4 post lift

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
I miss having a shop been looking for another one but hard to find one for less than a grand a month locally, plenty of them ~40 minutes away for cheap but not in very good areas and don't want to worry about someone stealing or vandlizing my stuff.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
1/ "Leminator" cam...he's already figured one out.
2/ Thinking of stepping up to 4:30 gears (currently 4:11's) to get my 3,775 lb. hulk moving.
3/ Refresh some of the wear on the restored parts of the Ranchero. It's starting to show signs of the restoration being over6 years old.
...if she doesn't sell

The last 4 is something I need to do.
PS...don't waste your time/money w/4.88 in BBF. 4.30 works well in most applications. Let your torque do it's job imo.

I have a list of stuff for both cars and the trailer but it don't mean sh*t right now as I injured my knee at work and may be out for a while. I have no idea how well worker comp pays...

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Going to actually plant my ass IN the shop in a vain attempt to finish the car. I've got a few more pieces to weld in. Other than having to buy a new set of slicks, driveshaft and a gearset it's all there. Just needs me to put it all together...

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Change the fox body's cam to a nos cam so I can spray it !!!!!!!!! Rewire it,up grade to arc wiring and a digital 7 box Put he progressive controler back, add a speed tech dual stage plate.I have at least one more grudge race with it this yr so above plans are subjuect to change if there any damage.Add New valve springs to the list.It will also get a set of 5 lugs and a set of bogart wheels.to try to get the wt below 3000 lbs
The 64 1/2 will get valve springs a new set of slicks. Painless wiring and multi step timing retard, the cross hair nos off the fox body where it can either run 6.00 h\u or brackets

bigblok2000ranger wrote: My plans include new fuel pump and ignition box, having the engine given the once over and purchasing a pair of Pro-Systems carbs as well as building 2 transmissions and having my converter reflashed and hoping to purchase a back up converter to go with the back up trans. Will be purchasing new tires in the spring as well.
Well currently gonna get bigger tires, bigger gears, add a vacuum pump, cut out a BUNCH of weight out of the truck and get a set of D/A coilovers and get rid of the leafs and floaters. I am currently waiting on some quotes to have my trans built (I think its time to let a pro do it). I am making quite a few changes over the winter but every single one has a reason behind it.
