I'm reading the posts about can you physically install a Victor intake on a stock engine to run around off road. Why in hell would you want to do that?
Desmog your stock engine.
Recurve your distributor.
Install straight up timing gears and a double roller timing chain.
Install 1/34" primary tube headers, 2 1/2" exhaust, "H" pipe, and mufflers that you can look thru.
Then go rip-snorting around the boonies and have a ball. Save the Victor for a dedicated engine build or sell it.
^^^^^ DanE is putting you down the right path for the money your looking to spend and still have some to save for the next big build

Re: Viktor air gap intake
I know you guys know best so I might just do that or I might throw my 351w in for the summer and start buying parts for a big build thanks
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Going to try to save money by dropping motor instead of hi angle drivshafts. Is there a oil pan that works with the twin I beam front axle or just a rear sump oil pan? That will give me a couple thousand saved right there if I can make that work
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Bought a set of 71 dove-c heads fully rebuild with upgraded springs and a nice set of valve covers so far wouldn't mind some suggestions on came and pistons. Was told for what I'm doing it get a after market rv cam to get some tork back. I know I'm not going the route that was suggested but could still use some help
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Get with Randy or Lem and have them to make you a custom cam it won't cost you but about $30 to $40 more than a off the shelf cam.

tell them what you have and want to do they can get you the parts you will need listen to them these guys build engines and sale parts. They not going to sale you something that not going to work for your engine just to sale apart like some will. I have bought from both and will buy again when the time comes.

I have a few phone messages which I need to return, (I do not return international phone calls), and let me add that when anyone calls a workplace on Sunday evening, they are most likely NOT going to get any answer at that time.
There was no need to search very far as the website address is right at the bottom of this page.
Almost ANYWHERE in Canada the shipping charge from the USA will include duty and brokerage charges; not simply the cost of merely shipping.
The last camshaft I mailed to Alberta was almost $100.00 just to get it delivered.
Re: Viktor air gap intake
I didn't expect to get a answer there last night. I just tried calling again. If you don't call international I try again later. Not sure as far as business hours with the time difference between here and there it's 1:41 here. Thanks for the help. Could still use some help with choosing pistons.

The PROBE part number for the correct 30 over forged replacement piston set using D0VE heads with standard rods are: P2404F-030
Re: Viktor air gap intake
I like the price $491.00 thanks I'm going to wait for the heads to show up make sure there good to go and go from there. I'll get these pistons the straight up timing and figure out the camshaft should be good for a bit thanks everyone:D
Re: Viktor air gap intake
The guy I got the valve covers from just sold me a high volume oil pump, double roller timing chain and gear and a set of 3/8 push rods. Think I'll go with the comp xtreme 4x4 cam and lifter kit CL34-239-4 from summit racing
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Ok so I have so far victor intake, new sheet metal valve covers, extreme energy comp camshaft, straight up timing gear and chain, push rods 3/8, high volume oil pump and I know I need pistons and roller rockers. The pistons im looking at are10.6-1 compression. What else do I need besides gaskets and seals and maybe bairings
Re: Viktor air gap intake
You also need
1) ARP oil pump shaft
2) Carb
3) the correct length push rods ( what you have might work check them to be sure )
4) water pump and alt. With pulleys
What kind of cam is it you got..... what are the specs

Re: Viktor air gap intake
Comp camshaft xtreme energy hydraulic flat tappet 1800-6000 rpm range 230 degee intake @ 0.050 inch lift 236 exhaust @ 0.050 0.562 intake o.565 exhaust the oil pump I got is coming with the shaft i think it's on its way same guy is sending the push rods ses they'll work and I have a brand new chev alternator and brand new water pump already on the motor got them last year think its a comp water pump. I have a brand new holly carb but figured I'd need a bigger one it's a 650 holly. Figured I'd keep it for my 351w and get a750 double pumper
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Found a local guy that sells fully rebuilt 4150 series square bore double feed double pumper machanical secondary holly850 reusable gaskets $450 canadian. Is that a fair price
Re: Viktor air gap intake
I have the pistons picked out I think speed pro + 30 ..400" dome also come in std size will measure jugs make sure there not to wore if there good might stay stock size to save some money will run 10.6-1 there not much cheaper then the probe dome pistons but smaller dome I think and still run pump gas. Need to know what I can use for roller rockers seen some cheap aluminum ones running out of money so trying to stay on the cheap side of things now let me know if anyone has any suggestions thanks
Re: Viktor air gap intake
Pistons are on ebay speed pro L2443NF dome+30 ....400" if anyone wants to check them out.if probe makes a similar piston better quality or someone has a better cheap piston they know of let me know
Re: Viktor air gap intake
How many cc's are the dove-c heads expansion chambers I was thinking all along that they were 92
Re: Viktor air gap intake
What compression will I get with the probe dome pistons with 77ish cc heads? I was told i want 10.1-1 to 10.7-1
