That is a reverse cut Dana 60. You can't buy a 6.20 gear for that, they never made them. The lowest gear you can buy is a 5.38.

that's what it has in it now. I have a 106 rear but I can't remember the gear but I know it's lower, 58? Something. Now what?Bret Powell wrote:That is a reverse cut Dana 60. You can't buy a 6.20 gear for that, they never made them. The lowest gear you can buy is a 5.38.

Can you go to a chain drive so you can slow down the front drive shaft so that the gearing matches?

I have never used a drop box, assuming that it drops both drive shafts and not only the front, I do not believe that you can change the speed of only the front shaft. Can you change the gear ratio of the drop box and than change the rear end gearing to match the front?

I suspect that's what I'll have to do. The profab is a quick change gear drive that has lots of ratios.nord315 wrote:I have never used a drop box, assuming that it drops both drive shafts and not only the front, I do not believe that you can change the speed of only the front shaft. My 10" gear box is something like you would need. You can overdrive or under drive the front axle how ever you want. It is a quick change as well.
