Those heads will make decent power for what they are. Its been a while since I owned a set but some of either the early/later build dates had some issues w/valve clipping on higher lift roller cams. Not a BIG deal,i just trimmed the valve diameters a shade and they were good to go.

Re: E8ZN-A460
Its the M6010 A460 block. Your reading a casting number, versus the part number. The casting number identifies the date of cast, 88, Z destined for mustang.. lol.. and N, non production Best as I can decipher.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/85220/thread/1115687127/Need+help+to+ID+SVO+A460 It's a mystery block, LoL. According to my old SVO book the A460 block came out in the summer of 1987 and they list them as a M-6010 back then, so if the 8 indeed is 1988 it was one of the early blocks.

6010 is the base part number for any Ford block.
Is the block 10 or 18 bolt? Two or 4 holes in the middle of the lifter valley?

You are missing what I am telling you. It does not matter if it's on the block or not.....all Ford blocks are 6010...case in point is M-6010-A460 or D9TZ-6010-A are both blocks......just like all part numbers with a base of 6500 are lifters.....6701 are all rear main seals.
Being that that block is 10 bolt for the heads it's an older unit.
The numbers that are cast with the block are engineering numbers.......not a part number or casting number.

Re: E8ZN-A460
I just want to confirm you have an older A460 from motorsports block. im guessing it was built some where around 1990-2003 roughly. before it was revise and they started with the 18 bolt head pattern. i have the same block that was assembled in the early 1990"s and been though 3 maybe 4 owners. we finally had a rod failure and now it will get 2 sleeves and bores to 4.600 and get a 4.50 or 4.75 crank and not sure what we'll do for heads but it will be a "A" head deal
in order to sell it you'll need to get more info on deck height and bore size to inform the buyer what your selling.
hope this helps
