New shop toy
If any of you are looking for one I have to recommend the Hypertherm. This one I just got is a powermax 45 and it's bad assed! I haven't used one in several years becouse I wasn't too impressed with the one I tried. This thing will run through 1/4" plate and has no trouble at all with 1/2". One of the best tools I've bought I think, and it's made in USA!

Re: New shop toy
I have an old 380 (rated for 3/. It is really handy for thicker stuff or when you need to cut some shit out where you can't get with a saw or grinder. The only downside to a plasma cutter is they need clean up before welding.
Tip: Always buy a bigger one then you think you need. I can cut 1/2" but it starts to get ugly.

I have the same machine,
I've had-it almost a full year now, and I'm very impressed. "No regrets" just the price.... just cut a bunch of 1/2'' for a snow plow I'm building. Just be sure and use clean dry air.
I think you will need glasses a little darker than pictured. LOL............

It's nice to see a good product made in USA! I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet!

I have heard a number of stories, about how they use to use another big name manufacture and tried a buddies Hyper and fell in love with it. If I was going to buy one that is what I would buy.
