Send Me Your Email for Pics
As I remember it's a 1.76 1st, but I'll check the paperwork as it's documented. I can ship via freight once I get a weight, but it's probably somewhere around 110lbs I'd guess with everything. I have the factory box for the trans as well as the converter. Email me at mkopmani@ford.com and I'll send pics and confirm the ratio. I can scan the build sheets from JW so you know everything that's there.
Thanks,
Mike Kopmanis

Freight Quote
Tried Fed Ex Website for freight quote. 120lbs going class 65 (auto parts) is $246 for 3-day delivery, $256 for 2-day. Not sure if there's anyone cheaper, but this doesn't sound crazy. I'd have to check weight, but this is an estimate. Mike

Re: Powerglide wanted
Not good news.. But, a quick Google of his name returned many hits in MI.. Ford engineer even.. don't give up - make this guy make it right if the goods weren't as advertised
Re: Powerglide wanted
I hope this turns out good. And to think the guy even had 25 posts.

Re: Powerglide wanted
For sure want stay in park and while in park upon revving, it wants to take off. Put it in neutral and it's not as bad at wanting to go. Then when I put it in park again out of neutral it's like when u put one in park out of a forward gear but there's no forward gear. It goes in reverse on the tb. I'm gonna jack the back up and disconnect the cable and check the lever but I don't think that's it. He did call me. Like I said I'm gonna check a couple more things.
Thanks

Re: Powerglide wanted
Yes it has a pro brake. I jacked it up in the back and disconnected the cable and pu it in first gear and cranked it up. Yea the tires spinned but also did in neutral.

Re: Powerglide wanted
EDIT: The other thread you made on this had some good input on what might be going on.. did you do any follow-up?
https://www.429-460.com/t25132-jw-trans-want-stay-in-park
Powerglide not having 'Park', due to valve body travel not being sufficient to engage the park pawl.. apparently common with some aftermarket setups. 'Drag' in neutral might just be tight clearances also..

Re: Powerglide wanted
Got it jacked up and disconnected the cable, cranked it up, let buddy hold the foot brake, I pulled the lever to the first gear position and thank God it went in gear. I apologized to Mike for questioning and aggravating him. It had to be lever position issue. I gotta get a cable end swivel adjuster for a hurst cable or get a whole new cable. For sure I haven't drove this trans yet but I'm taking Mike word for, it's gonna work. If it don't, hell, I'll just have to fix it. Anyway, sorry to bug u guys and thanks for all the info.

Re: Powerglide wanted
One thing to also check because it is also a common issue is the depth of the tranbrake solenoid in case. Sometimes you have to shim slightly.
