With my combo on some things  I'm kinda going with the way the wind blow. I need some thoughts on what the performance come of what I have going on at the moment. 580ci, a460 head mild port lowered short turn and port matched to gasket. 283/302@.050, 839/780lift, 114 lob sep, 1.76 glide, 6000 stall, 430gr, 29.5 tire, 2780lb. I have no nos on it right now. I'm wanting to Crack a 5 n/a. Any pros and cons?

Cams a little big IMO

And I'd consider upgrading to some strait cut 1.80's in the trans

Sounds like a good combo for 5.49 index here. Then spray it for 4.90 index.

Hopefully the 1.76 gear will hold up. It's a JW Glide part number 92351v, good to 1800hp. Yea I was just wondering wondering about how this combo would kinda do. Some time or another I'm gonna stall down and go 1.80. But ain't a lot of cars gon to a higher tranny gear and lower rearend gear?

6000 may even be a little tight on the converter NA depending on some other things. Heads will determine where it's happy at but somewhere 72-7800 rpm I'd think.

Too much cam duration. More so on the intake side.

Dang it! I do it every time I don't look at this cam card. I got the duration at .050 wrong. It's 283/302 not 292/304. Sorry bout that. Would this decrease in duration change things much?

With a 4.5" stroke, thin, (light), rings will be necessary to make good power above 7,400 RPM without any crankcase vacuum.

.043 .043 3/16 diamond dome lateral gas ports.

You are running the same thing as me except I'm 3200 lb. and have P-51's flowing 435 cfm peak. 15:1 compression.

I have a 6100 converter and shift at 7200. 1.80 straight cuts. runs 5.40's.
