4-Door Drag Car....Cool or Stupid??

Was just browsing Craigslist, and saw a few old 4-door Ford cars, Fairmonts, Fairlanes, and a few Mavericks got me to thinking, oftentimes a 4-door can be had a lot cheaper than a coupe when it comes to project cars, anybody ever try it, would it be cool, or stupid?

Jack Roush had a 4 door Maverick that was pretty cool!

Nearly everything in the land of Auz is a 4-door... I will say can be cool, wagons too!

Used to know two hardcorp streetracers here with SB 4doors on the gas that really cleaned house on unsuspecting rookie's. I thought it was slick as hell myself.

I love wagons!!! Old school full trim Fairmont wagon with full chassis and big block? Come on, tell me that's not awesome.....

Fairmonts all have the same wheelbase, any Fox Mustang suspenson will fit, Fox body mini tubs are the same and they are lighter than a Mustang. There are a lot of guys building more doors, they're cheaper and have the sleeper look.

Charlie Booze Jr. has a 70 or 71 4 door Torino with a Shaker on it.IIRC it's ran 10 teens to 10.30's with a N/A 472 BBF with DOVE-C Heads.He used to run in Top Stock in the NSCA back in the mid to late 90's.

Only problem that I would consider is that if you build a 4 door car is getting return on your investment. It really narrows the market if you decided to sell. I believe they are cool. I have a 460 drive train ready to go in something. I have been looking for something different to put it in for a bracket bomber. I haven't found anything that turns my wheels yet. I have thought of a wagon or even a truck. I've even threatened to put it in my 66 Fairlane. Hold up on it is it is a factory 390 GTA.

Station wagons are cool and won't have bad resale like a lot of regular 4 doors

yank the hp starving 4.6 drop a bbf in it for cool factor lol

My four door has been everything from a grocery getter, street n track, to what it has morphed into now,, different is ok in my book,,, here is a good bit of info on all the specs
