472'' Stock stroke,
0-deck, .042 gasket
72cc dove head.
Looking for info, on how much to cut the top down to get it around 10:25/10:50 comp?
Thanks.

You will need a dish piston. Probably 17-18 cc dish volume with a zero deck short block.

I was hoping to be able to remove what I needed off the top, helping to take some wt. off on the way.
How much thicker head gasket? if that's possible. If my memory's correct the domes are .400 and the tops are pretty thick .
Gold is, to get it in the pump gas range.
Thanks

Prob around .100 thick, but your going to lose your quench, and it will be detonation prone at 10.5 :1 then.

If your heads are not high $ just stock, you may be best suited to just mill the pistons flat and go to a D3 head. They flow the same.

Thanks Blake,
I'm just guessing,,  just milling the pistons to a flat-top. it would still be in the area of 12:1.
Thanks for the info.......
I'll have the pistons milled flat, (one is damaged) Than do a set Of the PI's.

.

How much can be milled down past the dome? And still be safe for a street build.
Thanks.

I would want at least .150 crown thickness.
