C6 into a 64 Fairlane
Putting a C6 in a 64 Fairlane with a factory floor shifter and console. Has anybody done this and what have you used for a shift rod? Will the rod from a fordomatic tranny fit the bill?? Tore

Re: C6 into a 64 Fairlane
I did read somewhere a while ago someone had used a C4 shift lever to do exactly this . Something I was going to look into but as yet haven't
Another option might be this https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/69-70c-6arm.html
That's if you need the lever ? If i had to make a rod you could get a couple of 5/16 or 3/8 rod ends and make up the rod and thread each end?

As far as I know there is only 1 style roof.

Yup, just one basic roof shape, only difference is whether the factory stuffed two or four doors under it. I haven't tried putting a C6 in a 63 or 64 yet, but I have heard massaging the trans tunnel is required.
