I personally think a lot of people get pulled into the high spring pressure is a must and over spring.
I run a Manley Nextek 221424-16 250 @ 2.00 / 800 @ 1.150 647 spring rate.
2.300 stainless intake valve Ti retainers and .4375 x .165 wall pushrod.
7200 rpm shift point and has seen 8100 several times with zero sign of valve float.
6 years and checked several springs the other day and all were with in 15 lbs of original seat pressure of 165 lb.
On the O.P.'s engine combo, I would be around 220/600 with the 600 being .060 at max lift.

anything but Comp springs in my motors ...... I had good results with Howards pro alloy 98885 Dual with Damper 1.575od 245 @ 2.000 600 @ 1.300 485lb/in .740 max lift 1.200cb or Manley pro 22431-16 Chrome Silicon Double w/damper Oval / Drag 1.550" 225 @ 1.950" 507lb/in 580 @ 1.250" .725 max lift

thanks for all the replies.i have a set comp 943.they are 240 @ 1.950 and 580 @ 1.300 .they should work good.plan to keep this under 6400 rpm.net lift should be .633 with cold lash.
