What's better, 460 or 429?
I appreciate that it's basically the stroke that is different but what's the difference in performance, reliability, is one more revvy, torquey, etc etc

The big strokers will rev real good too, so your gonna have a hard time beating more cubes!!

The 460 for sure!. I would even add some stroke to it, you have plenty of deck height to work with.

This is one case where more cubes is better.....a bigger engine w/o the long and heavy piston of the 429 .fozwanger wrote:What's better, 460 or 429?

Re: what's better? 429 or 460?
It's easy to say and the same old key board bs . The facts are.......with most cyl. heads....a 4.530 X 4.300 = 554" deal is a better way to go than 4.440'" X 4.5" = 557" . No replacement for a good package...i.m.o.56Tbird wrote:There's no replacement for displacement............more cubes the better

Really depends on what engine youre looking at buying and for how much as its usually more cost effective to go with the 460 over the 429.
