83 f100 no tail lights.

I am wondering if anyone has changed a steering column and lost rear tail lights? i put a 86 tilt column in my 83 f100 and now i don't have any rear lights. but at the plug in under the box i can test the wiring and get enough volts to identify what each wire does but the lights will not light up ....

all the front lights work perfect.

brake light on the dash is on also.
no reverse lights either....

Can't speak for that particular year but the older trucks and cars tailight run through the blinker switch and the hazard switch.

so I have figured out that I have power all the way to the end of the frame... problem starts when I hook up the tail light harness at the rear.... Acts like a ground problem..

Sounds like the harness plug is pinned differently do you have wiring diagrams? If not try jumping the power to a light, and check the bulbs. If they are pinned differently it could have blown the bulbs if the plug is pinned reverse polarity. If bulbs are good jump from plug pin to plug pin to verify which wires should be re-pinned.
