Re: First 547 build
I still haven't dynoed the motor yet, I pulled the heads to get some bowl work and back it on intake valves..
As for fuel system,Still need to order a carb, possibly looking at a ultra 950 xp, a refurbished one from the Holley store , as for rest of the fuel system thinking just a Holley 130 gph fuel pump, half inch line with half inch sending unit and a regulator. I think that should be enough??
Hopefully in a month get it dynoed

Re: First 547 build
Engine pics (and car) look fantastic.
Not sure what compression ratio you ended up with or what camshaft specs you ended up with.
Those will give us an idea what rpm range - and what possible HP output will be.
Without much information it is tough to guess.
Could be 400 hp to 750 hp. (baby cam and low compression to big cam and higher compression)

That would be nice, but I don't think it I'll be that much. My guess is 668 . Dyno will be at 900 feet elevation vs 5,000 in Wyoming

Re: First 547 build
Where in Wyoming? They gave me the "correct ed" hp, which accounts for elevation and I believe temperature. I am in Tremonton which is near Logan, Utah. I got a Wyoming elk tag this year, unit 98 I believe.

Re: First 547 build
It made 630 hp at 6000 and 670 lb at 4400. I'll post a sheet later

That is all the RPM you will need to use in a regular hot-rod street car.

Re: First 547 build
I'm guessing that's a Flat Tappet Solid Cam not a Roller?

That cam was designed for a 472 / 502 size engine so, it really should have been about 4 degrees larger but, certainly not enough difference to spend the money for another camshaft.
Re: First 547 build
Out of the 10 pulls one at 32 degrees
it made 675.2 @4500
But horsepower dropped to 626.4 @6,000
It all depends on what I guy wants I guess
