Header combo with new engine
I am changing from my current 521/532 conventional TFS street head combo to an A460 TFS head 572 combo. The A heads have a standard BBC exhaust port so I am told. So my Question is in regard to headers. Can I get a set of chassis BBC headers and modify? Are there adapter plates made for this so I can use my current headers? Just trying to find the easiest approach rather than starting from scratch and building another set (seems like I am always building headers!)
Obviously chassis/strut car-current headers are 2-1/8

Chassis and strut car headers should be easy to find
Should be able to use a BBC kit or find something used pretty cheap

2-1/4" primaries would be better for the new engine. BBC headers should bolt right on the new TFS A460 heads.

If the chassis will accept them, they will surely fit the heads with no problem.

Thanks guys found a set of 2 3/8 to 4" out.

You gonna spray it?
Re: Header combo with new engine
2-1/4 gets my vote also. Don't forget the Chevy exhaust flange angle is different than a ford A460. I just got reminded on some upright truck headers. Chevy headers will turn under toward the oil pan when used on your ford.

Any way....2-3/8" is more than it needs NA.
Re: Header combo with new engine
Ok got the headers that I expected to modify for this engine. Just to clarify what I am doing these headers were used on a BBC obviously but I knew the header flange would work and they were already 2 3/8 so here is my plan.
Slice and dice them to use the flange and come off the flange with 2 1/4 and step to the 2 3/8 does this make sense? Is this the correct size for the 572 A460 head deal that is recommended?
But for Lems comments asking if I am going to spray it hmmmm mostly bracket race deal but if I come close to an E.T heads up class I may spray it if necessary to run a certain E.T I guess. So not out of the realm of possibilities. So Question here is what header size is recommended for NA- 2 1/4 stepped to 2 3/8? If spraying should I just leave 2 3/8 all the way out?

Re: Header combo with new engine
If they fit the chassis now ... run it just the way it is before changing anything; maybe some longer collectors.
