Mustang II or Ranger front suspension ?
1971 Mustang project. I would be grafting the new suspension onto the car, probably also getting new front frame rails.
The ranger suspension looks like it might be more heavy duty than the Mustang II, plus would have bigger brakes.
Any advice on the Ranger suspension ? 1998 and on.
Ultimate goal is that I don't want any crossmembers under the engine, I want to use a full length oil pan. And no strut suspensions.

I don't think I'll go with motor plates.

I googled to see if they were the same as the explorer but could not find an answer. I have an 04 Explorer and they handle like crap and have wicked bump steer. I could not imagine ever wanting to go race car fast in it that's for sure.

I ran the ranger frontend under my 2000 ranger with the 460 and the 552 never had a problem only reason taking it out was to give more room and less weight on the frontend the ranger front clip is heavy for sure

On the strut deal, I'm going to use fairly wide front wheels and tires, not a typical skinny drag/pro street build.

As far as the MII, you can buy just about any configuration you want. Everybody makes everything for a II crossmember...... thru the coil, coil overs, bags, extended tube control arms, standard-lowered spindles and every brake configuration up to 13" rotors, stabilizer bars, Every wheel bolt pattern. etc, etc. I believe there is a weld in with reinforcements for every Mustang any early year gen 1 thru all fox's. It is akin to saying 350/350!
