Need advice on 70 mustang front suspension with BBF.
I have a 1970 Mustang with (had) 460 in it. Im pulling it out of retirement. I plan on putting my 460 back in it. Only problem I had with it was the front suspension. No power steering on car. The car was really hard to steer with the big motor and I really dont wont power steering on it. Might just notch the shock towers and bear with it. Has anyone ever used coil-overs with a rack on these cars? Like the fox body type set-ups. Im not a big fan of the Mustang ll set-ups. AJE racing has a great set-up but I cant find anyone running one on a early model with a BBF. Any help or pix would be great!

I built my own front suspension using a set of AJE coilover struts from a fox. Give me a day and I'll get some pics as the motor is out right now.

The AJE K-member for the early Fords has been redesigned a few times since it first came out. Each time still having some assorted problems and/or quality control problems. But according to them the current design cures the past issues (and hopefully their quality control is now better than it was).

Only problem is even with a great component design, you can't force any company's workers to do a hERo quality job if they don't want to/don't care to.

it may be home made crap!....but it works. I am no sure if i want to keep the foxbody strut set up on th 65 or go with a mustang 2 setup....I want to do away with the shock towers....I am currently using lakewood boat anchors on the front with a 14" spring...I need a shorter strut and a 12" spring

Wow! Very nice set-up.. Thanks for the pictures. Are you running a 460 with a rear sump pan to clear the rack?

custom box style alum pan, rack is in front so no clearance issues there.
