New combo shakedown
It's been a year since I've last had my car to the track. Last year I left disappointed after detonation took out 4 pistons (hypereutectics). Over this past winter I scored a lightly used 466 with good internals (h-beam rods and probe pistons) plus a few extra parts to with it. The rest of the combo consists of lightly worked Ford Racing SCJ heads, Victor intake, 1050 dominator, cam spec'd by Randy Malik.
Most of the summer has consisted of a lot smaller upgrades, and a lot of street driving and tuning. 1st time off the trailer I was rewarded with a 10.70 @ 129mph. The 60' was a conservative 1.56-1.57 (foot brake)...shifting around 6200-6300. There is definitely a lot more left in it at both ends of the track. If I can get it back up before the end of the season, I'll turn it up a little more!

Thanks Mark...It pulls really hard on the big end! I could probably get a 10.6xor 10.5x if I turned the limiter up. It’s pretty lazy on the start, even if it is only on the foot brake. A gear change is in order for this winters project.
The Boss 302 turned out great. I talked him into dropping the compression and adding some cubes. It’s now a 331 and works really well with the heads. He can’t stop smiling after he goes for a ride!

It's kind of odd to show 1254 feet but ran 10.35 seconds to that point but the ET shows 10.70 so that should be right for 1,320 ft I would imagine?

There a set of timers before the 1320 timer. There’s also a 594’ timer before the 660’ too.

IMO if you drive it a lot on the street and have a 3 speed automatic I wouldn't go more than 3.89 if a 9" or 3.73 if 8.8"!!!

Those timers are for determining MPH at the 1/8th and 1/4

It's actually 66 feet not 76 , and as I said it is the timer for MPH calculation . Before "modern" computers there was a timer at 66' before the 1/4 and another 66 feet after for a total of 132' or one tenth of the 1/4 mile.. Racers would "race" to the last MPH clock and sometimes not get stopped at the end of the track. Now the mph is calculated by the 66' method to stop racing past the finish line.
