Tightest fitting 429 block hugger headers

First off thanks for the add. This is my first post. Recently bought an AC Cobra replica with a 429.
I need to redo the exhaust I want to replace the exhaust manifolds with headers but it's VERY tight. I may have to modify the steering but would rather not if possible.
Tried the search function without success.

I know that Superformance sells headers for their big block Cobra kit car.

Unknown. That's part of the problem and I haven't been able to id it yet. Possibly a Shell Valley.

I used Sanderson "block hugger" headers on my 460 in a 1930 Model A Coupe. The headers are well made, but I'm not very impressed with their "block Hugging" ability, could have been a lot tighter to the engine.

Check these out. Very nice pieces.

They are 2 inch primary and 3.5 inch collector.

Mine are 2.25 prim, down to a 4in collector. 4 in pipes to 40's mags to out the side in front of the rear tire.
Did I mention the 4in was squeezed to an Oval.




And ceramic coated black. I had them made by, now closed, TnT Race Shop, Blaine Mn.
And yes, to get them to fit inside the frame rails we put 2 in, 2 outside the rails.
